Visitation will take place January 20, 2025, at Holy
Family Catholic Church in Lincoln one hour prior to
the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Service:
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00
a.m. on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Holy Family
Catholic Church in Lincoln.

Obituary
Mary A. Wright, 97, of Lincoln, IL,
passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Lincoln
Memorial Hospital.
Mary was born August 16, 1927, in Bement, IL, the
daughter of Joe and Ethel (Roche) Denney. She
married William Thomas ‘Bill” Wright on May 7, 1947,
in Lincoln, IL. He preceded her in death in 1990.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Linda Wright and
Cathy (John) Roche; four grandchildren, Christine
(Josh) Short, Tricia (Jeremy) Bress, Michelle
(Danny) Fletcher, and John William (Cassie) Roche;
and nine great-grandchildren with one more on the
way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband,
Bill; one brother, Charles Denney; and three
sisters, Josephine Leesman, Marjorie Osborn, and
Emily Hickey. Mary was the last of her immediate
family. |
Mary and Bill were devout members of
Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and
loving wife to Bill for 43 years. In later years,
Mary always looked forward to dining out and most of
all spending time with her family.
A Mass of Christian burial will be
held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 20, 2025, at
Holy Family Catholic Church in Lincoln. Visitation
will take place one hour prior to the service from
10:00 am to 11:00 am also at the church. Burial will
follow the mass at Holy Cross Cemetery in Lincoln.
Memorials may be made in Mary’s name to Holy Family
Catholic Church for Masses. Arrangements have been
entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln.
