West Lincoln-Broadwell wins 8th Grade Logan County Tournament

[January 24, 2025]   The West Lincoln Broadwell Wolverines defeated the Mount Pulaski Bruins 54-30 to win the 2025 8th Grade Logan County Championship on Thursday night.

Chester East Lincoln hosted the championship.

Maddox Whiteman led WLB with 14 points. Grant Hayes had 12 points and Colby Bowman tossed in 10 points.

Whiteman hit two 3s in the first quarter and Hayes also scored six points as the Wolverines jumped out to an 18-8 lead.

Hayes continued to lead the scoring in the second quarter and by halftime WLB was up 28-12.

A balanced scoring attack in the third quarter was led by Froebe’s five points. The Wolverines were enjoying a 44-23 lead when the quarter ended.

Whiteman led the fourth quarter with five more points to guide the team to the 54-30 win.

WLB improved to 21-3 on the season.

Jaxson Smith led Mount Pulaski with seven points.
