Roadway Project near Emden - 600th
Avenue closed starting July 15
[July 11, 2025]
A roadway project near Emden is
scheduled to begin July 15th. 600th Avenue will be closed for
several days between US Hwy 136 and 2800th Street. The roadway
should be re-opened to traffic by July 18th.
The existing pavement is in poor condition. A road recycler will be
used to pulverize the existing pavement and incorporate new asphalt.
This process provides a cost effective option to resurfacing.
The project was awarded to Illinois Road Contractors located in
Jacksonville, Illinois for $57,888. Motor Fuel Tax funds will be
used to pay for the construction costs, which will be split between
Orvil Township and Prairie Creek Township.
