Obituary
Carol Ann Sheley, 69, of Lincoln, IL,
passed away on July 6, 2025 at Methodist Hospital in
Merrillville, IN.
Carol was born on July 23, 1955 in Lincoln, IL the
daughter of Charles H. and Mary Ann (Shay) Sloan.
Carol is survived by her son Andy (Charla) Sheley;
her grandchildren, Ean Ray, Catey Mae, Charlee, and
Cooper Sheley; her former husband, Dennis Sheley;
her brother, Terry Sloan; her God children, Tara
Snyder and Marcus Pickett; and her best friends
“Sisters”, Diana Pickett and Val Combs
Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
Carol was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in
Lincoln, where she taught Sunday School for many
years. She worked as a banker for over 20 years at
both State Bank of Lincoln and as a Branch Manager
at Illini Bank. Carol enjoyed reading and listening
to novels, and also loved to listen to her favorite
country singer, Cooper Alan. Above all else, Carol
loved her family; especially her grandchildren and
loved all kids as her own.

A memorial service for Carol will be
held at 11:00am on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Immanuel
Lutheran Church in Lincoln with Pastor Tom Krieger
officiating. Visitation will take place two hours
prior to the service (9:00-11:00am) also at the
church. Memorial donations may be made in Carol’s
name to Immanuel Lutheran Church Sunday School,
Cumberland Presbyterian Sunday School, or Shriners
Hospitals for Children of St. Louis. Services have
been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home, Lincoln, IL.
