Sunny skies and hot weather were
the perfect backdrop to Lincoln Park District Aquatic Center’s
second Family Fun Day of the summer on Friday, July 11. A Sports Day
theme with decorations, photo opportunities, and swimming pool
versions of baseball, volleyball, and basketball followed by swim
races kept kids and their caregivers entertained.
Admission for Sports Day Family Fun Day was an item for Moms Who
Care– an organization which provides supplies for area students–
gave families a lower cost admission, as well as the opportunity to
support others in the community. Regular pool admission and pool
passes are also accepted on Family Fun Days.

Pool Manager Abbie Arnold said, “We
had a great turnout! I like Sports Day because everyone can play.
It’s getting everyone together. The weather held up, so we had this
great turnout and I’m so thankful.” All three summer Family Fun Days
were planned by lifeguard and event coordinator Mattea McFadden.
Arnold stated, “Mattea put a lot of hard work into our Family Fun
Days. She’s a fantastic asset!”
