Saturday Business Spotlight: Beautiful Body and Soul

[July 21, 2025]  Rosemarie Murphy recently moved her business to an official brick and mortar office in Lincoln. Beautiful Body and Soul is located at 514 Pekin Street in Lincoln. Some people may recognize the address as the former Apple Dental Center. After the dental practice, Melanie Welch occupied the space with her retail business “The Bee.” When Welch moved to a storefront downtown, her husband David used the building as the start-up location for his men’s clothing and accessories store “Prairie Threads.” David Welch then later moved his business into the downtown area, and the building was once again ready to be occupied by someone new.

Murphy had started her business in 2024 in her home but saw the value of having a designated location and this year moved to the Pekin Street address.

Beautiful Body and Soul is a well-being-based business that, generally speaking, will help clients feel better and look better through several practices. With a 28 year background in medicine, Murphy offers wellness alternatives that are based on studied medical practices.

Murphy is managing the business with assistance from her daughter-in-law Alix and is open only part time. Murphy works for Lincoln Memorial Care three days per week as a primary care APRN, while Alix is working at Springfield Clinic in the Gastroenterology department providing infusion and fibro scans three days a week. Murphy says the goal is to eventually add a front desk receptionist and have the business open six days a week.

Anyone interested in booking an appointment with Rosemarie or Alix can do so via their website or via a text message to Rosemarie at 217-494-5802.

The business was initially started at home in the spring of 2024 with the aim of providing weight loss options for individuals not covered by insurance for medication. Although there were effective treatment options available when combined with lifestyle modifications, only a few patients received insurance approval. The out-of-pocket cost for these medications was prohibitive for most patients.

In addition to weight loss services, Neuromodulator treatments (commonly known as Botox) were no longer offered through the medical office. Additional training was pursued in various fillers and neurotoxins to expand expertise. Alix, who has a passion for skin rejuvenation, joined to provide additional service time.

Alix offers IV nutrition therapy as an efficient method to rehydrate, recharge, and revitalize the body. With advanced training in IV insertion, she aims to avoid unpleasant experiences for clients. Premium IV infusion therapy is available to support immunity during peak illness seasons or before special events. Recovery and performance infusions supply nutrients for recovery after intense workouts, illness, surgery, or general fatigue. The Celebration Recoup infusion is designed to assist recovery before or after social events involving alcohol consumption, making it suitable for occasions such as bachelorette and bachelor parties or wedding celebrations.

The Alleviate pain-relieving infusion is targeted at conditions like migraines, fibromyalgia, muscle pain, and inflammation. Additional enhancements can be added to the infusions to further boost their benefits.

Both Alix and Rosemarie offer chemical peels, plant-based exosomes and micro needling for facial rejuvenation.

“Our vision is to create a welcoming environment where clients feel supported in their wellness journey, whether their goals involve weight management, improved skin health, or overall vitality. We are committed to ongoing education and incorporating the latest advancements in our field, ensuring that all who walk through our doors have access to safe, effective, and compassionate care. As we look ahead, we aspire to broaden our service offerings, refine our techniques, and grow our team—all while maintaining the personalized attention that is the hallmark of our practice. Your health and rejuvenation are at the heart of what we do, and we are grateful for the trust our clients place in us as we continue to evolve and serve our community.” says Rose Marie

Rosemarie was asked why she wanted to start her own business in Lincoln and what she sees as the benefits of being a small business owner.

“Starting a business with my daughter-in-law Alix, aiming to support her career. It’s a blessing to work with family and friends. My daughter Amanda and granddaughter Anabel was essential in making our open house successful. My dear friend Cindy Blair provided an outstanding food display for the event.

“We can develop our own policies and procedures that best suit our office and clients. In addition, immediate changes can be implemented to improve efficiency and care for our clients.

“Looking at the future, we can explore new modalities and therapies to further support the diverse needs of our clientele. From innovative skin treatments to expanded wellness programs, our focus remains firmly rooted in evidence-based practices and individualized care. We believe that each client’s journey is unique, deserving of both attentive listening and tailored solutions that are better served with longer office visits.”
