[June 05, 2025]  LINCOLN, IL – A big night of racing is on tap this Friday, June 6, at Lincoln Speedway, as the Ed Cain Trucking Hornet Challenge headlines a full card of exciting dirt track action. With a possible $1,000-to-win up for grabs in the Hornet division, the popular 4-cylinder class will take center stage alongside four additional divisions in what promises to be a can't-miss show.

Friday night’s program will feature:

Ed Cain Trucking Hornet Challenge ($1,000-to-win)

DIRTcar Pro Late Models

DIRTcar Modifieds

MARA Midgets

Sportsman

The Hornets will battle for bonus cash in one of their richest races of the year, drawing entries from across the region. With the purse boosted by Ed Cain Trucking, anticipation is high for a wild and competitive main event.

In the DIRTcar Pro Late Model class, the point standings are deadlocked at the top, with Ryan Miller (Lincoln, IL) and Braden Johnson (Taylorville, IL) tied heading into Friday night. Jacob Doolen sits in third, followed by Brandon Sweitzer and Michael Maestas. The division has seen Dakota Ewing score the first two victories of the season, while Colby Sheppard made a triumphant return last week to grab his first win of 2025.

The Sportsman return for their second appearance of the season. In the opener, Ed Cleeton of Tovey, IL took the win over Lee Stuppy, Randy Huffman, Colby Eller, and Barry Bell in a strong field. With solid support and competitive racing in the first outing, another entertaining show is expected.
