Obituary
Phillip Dale Newton, 62, of
Lincoln, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025 at his
residence.
Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Friday, June 6, 2025,
at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home with funeral
services at 7 PM. Cremation rites will then be
accorded, and burial will be at a later date.
Phil was born May 17, 1963, in Peoria, IL., the son
of Karl W. "Fig" Newton and Donna (Barker) Newton.
He graduated from Lincoln Community High School in
1981. He loved the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame
football. He enjoyed golfing spending time with his
family and friends.
Survivors include his mother Donna Newton, son Evan
Newton (Summer), grandchildren: Julian Brumfield,
Jaxon Fulk, Olivia Newton, and Kathryn Newton;
brothers Karl W. Newton Jr. (Sherry), Gene Newton
(Renee), and Quent Newton (Sherri); nieces and
nephews: Will Newton, Ari Pence, Lily Newton,
Kenneth Newton, and Lucas Newton; his canine
companion, Bella; and several great nieces and
nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his
father and his daughter Ashley Newton.
Memorial donations may be made to Lincoln Christian
Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
