							James “Jamey” Harp, 52, of Mason City 
							passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Lincoln 
							Memorial Hospital. 
							 
							He was born on April 2, 1973 in 
							Peoria to Richard T. and Janet (Barker) Harp. 
							 
							On July 1, 2006 in Petersburg he 
							married Angela Smith. 
							 
							Jamey is survived by his wife Angie, three children 
							Loren (Dale) DeVore of Easton, Caleb Harp and Kylie 
							Harp both of Mason City, two grandchildren Howie and 
							Daniella (Ella) DeVore of Easton, four siblings Rob 
							(Kelly) Harp of Mason City, Michelle (Harold) Norman 
							of Mason City, Andrew Harp of Lincoln and Jody 
							(Rena) Harp of Peoria as well as several nieces and 
							nephews. 
							 
							Jamey attended school in San Jose until it 
							consolidated and then graduated from Illini Central 
							in 
							1991. He earned his Associate in Applied Science 
							degree in Agricultural Business in 1993. He 
							most recently worked for the US Post Office as a 
							rural carrier and was an Archer Oil dealer for 
							many years. 
							 
							Jamey was an active member of the Mason City 
							Christian Church. He had a servant’s heart and spent 
							time as a Gideon, a Sunday school teacher, as a 
							volunteer at the Manna Project at his church, as a 2 
							year Jr 4-H Leader and then a 32 year 4-H Leader of 
							Peaceful Valley 4-H 
							Club of San Jose and as a volunteer for the Mason 
							County 4-H & Jr Show Association. Over the years he 
							was a fairboard member, a superintendent for several 
							divisions including sheep, goats, poultry, rabbits 
							and visual arts. He was on the calf and pig scramble 
							committees for 
							many years. He also spent time serving as the night 
							watchman. He was a proud 4-H Hall of Fame honoree. 
							He served on the University of Illinois Extension 
							Council Mason County and the 
							Fulton-Mason-Peoria-Tazewell Unit Extension Council 
							as well as the 4-H Expansion and Review Committee.

							He will be remembered for his many 
							years of service and for his commitment to helping 
							youth grow in their knowledge of agriculture. Jamey 
							was a friend to everyone he knew 
							and will be missed by many. 
							A Celebration of Life will be held on 
							June 21, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Mason City 
							Christian Church, 853 N Main Street, Mason City. 
							Visitation to be held one hour before. 
							Memorial contributions can be made to the Harp 
							family for the kid’s future education funds.
