Obituary
Marjorie L. Hamilton, 97, of
Bloomington, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
Memorial Services for Marjorie will be held on
Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the
Atlanta Christian Church. Mr. Russ Ashbaugh will
officiate. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Marjorie L. Thompson was born November 17, 1927, the
daughter of Maurice Wesley and Mabel Cooper
Thompson. She was first married to Budd Wilkinson
from June 7, 1949 – September 25, 1983. She then
married Charles Hamilton on December 27, 1986. He
preceded Marjorie in death on September 17, 2017.
Marjorie is survived by four children: Celia
Aguilar, Karen (Josef) Udwari, Angie (Robert)
Hentrich, and Chris (Russ) Ashbaugh; eleven
grandchildren; Many great-grandchildren; two
sisters: Harriet (James) Wilson and Mary Rose
Graham; and one brother, Robert Thompson.
She was preceded in death by two husbands and three
sisters: Becky Wilkinson, Peggy Swanberg, and Amy
Wilson.

A lifelong learner, Marjorie
graduated from Clinton Community High School in 1945
and Later earned a degree in Early Childhood
Education from ISU in 1973. She went on to teach as
an English tutor at Lincoln College in Lincoln, IL.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Marjorie was a
gifted seamstress, lovingly creating garments for
her daughters and later, sharing her talent with
others. She also found great fulfillment in serving
her community through the Adopt-a-Grandparent
program at local schools.
Marjorie’s Family invites those who wish to honor
her memory to consider a donation to Little Galilee
Christian Camp & Retreat Center, Clinton, Illinois,
an organization close to her heart.
