[June 18, 2025]  LINCOLN - Harley John Petri, 78, of Lincoln, IL, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Visitation:  Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 9 - 11 a.m. at Mt. Pulaski Christian Church.

Service:  Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the church.

Obituary

Harley John Petri, 78, of Lincoln, IL, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Harley was born on December 24, 1946, in Green Bay, WI, the son of Arno and Dell (Banta) Petri. He married Carol Sparling on October 14, 1967, in Flora, IL. She survives.

Harley is also survived by his children, Jody Ruff and Scott (Sarah Blessing) Petri both of Lincoln; grandchildren, Johanna (Alec) Casado, Justin (Taylor) Ruff, and Jillian (Brian) Medina; great-grandchildren, Delilah and Ava Jane; and his niece, Erica (Bill) Riley of Silver Lake, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Allen Petri.

Harley was a member of Mt. Pulaski Christian Church, Community Concert Board, Elkhart Fire Department Chaplain, and Elkhart Township Board. He worked with the Logan County Housing Authority and Logan County Habitat for Humanity.

Funeral services for Harley will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Mt. Pulaski Christian Church. Visitation will take place two hours prior from 9:00 am to 11:00 am also at the church. Burial will follow the service at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln. Memorials may be made in Harley’s name to Habitat for Humanity Logan County or Central Illinois Veterans Commission (CIVC). Arrangements have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski.
