On June 11th, 2025, Lincoln Police Officer Christy
Fruge was named the Illinois DARE Officer of the year by the
Illinois DARE Officers Association, at the Illinois Juvenile
Officers Association conference in East Peoria, Illinois.
Officer Fruge has spent more than 24 years serving the City of
Lincoln as a Police Officer, where she is assigned to Lincoln’s
District 27 schools, and has served as a DARE Officer for nearly as
long. Her dedication to youth focused programs, the Department, and
her organizational and leadership skills make Officer Fruge a
deserving candidate of this honor.
The Lincoln Police Department is proud of Officer Fruge’s
accomplishment and we consider ourselves lucky to have her leading
our DARE program. The success our DARE program enjoys is undoubtedly
due to the dedication and excellence exhibited by our DARE staff.
Congratulations, Christy, for earning such a great accomplishment!
