Obituary
Duane Tabor, 83, of Atlanta, passed
away at his home on Sunday, February 23, 2025.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March
1, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Quiram-Peasley Funeral
Home in Atlanta. Visitation will be held on Saturday
from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Cremation Rites have
been accorded.
Burial will be at Funks Grove Cemetery in rural
McLean at a later date.
Albert Duane Tabor was born April 1, 1941, in
Metamora, the son of Edward and Madeline A. Atchison
Tabor. He was united in marriage to Sandra Ruble on
June 13, 1981. She survives.
Duane is also survived by two sons, John (Amy) Tabor
and Todd (Julie) Tabor, step-children: Brenda (Mike)
Johnson, Larry (Terry) Bell, Jerry (Kellie) Bell,
Rob (Danielle) Bell, and Amy Brewer; grandchildren:
Ethan (Maddie) Tabor, Andrew Tabor, Molly Monahan,
and Brittany (Caleb) Fiscus; 16 step-grandchildren;
great-grandchildren: Nash Tabor, Caden Fiscus and
Brody Fiscus; 33 step-great-grandchildren; and
siblings: James (Brenda) Tabor, Karen (Bill) Horn,
Lyle (Ruth) Tabor, Judith (Chuck Parks) Cook, and
Mary Ellen Stevenson. |

He was preceded in death by two
brothers: Eugene Tabor and Kenneth Tabor.
Duane was a 1960 graduate of Atlanta High School. He
worked in Morton for Caterpillar for 30 years, first
in paint and then in maintenance. He farmed until
2008 and also worked for the City of Atlanta in
maintenance. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and
Allis-Chalmers tractors. He was known for being able
to fix anything.
Memorials may be made to American Lung Association
or OSF Hospice.
Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta is assisting
the family with arrangements.
