New continuing education classes
at Heartland Community College in Lincoln

Lincoln, IL, March 13, 2025 – Heartland
Community College Lincoln is now enrolling students in non-credit
courses, including meditation practices and retirement planning.
Complete Meditation will be offered on Thursday, April 3, from 5:00
p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In this class, participants will have an
opportunity to encounter meditation and its techniques while gaining
an understanding of the wide range of physical, psychological, and
emotional benefits it provides. They will learn how to move beyond
their bodies and minds as they enter a state of meditation and leave
with the ability to incorporate this healing habit into their daily
routines. This one-time course costs $29, with an enrollment
deadline of March 30.
The second class offered this spring is Retirement 101 on Tuesday,
May 6, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Participants will discover strategies
to build their wealth, minimize taxes, and be confident in their
financial future in retirement. They will learn the basics of Social
Security, Medicare, pensions, investments, spending, and taxes and
discuss Roth vs. pre-tax investments, tax brackets, and strategies
to minimize taxes. Whether you are years or months from retirement,
you'll leave feeling ready to take the next steps toward your
financial future. This one-time course costs $25, with an enrollment
deadline of April 30.
