Educational Center for the Visually
Impaired launches a new location in Lincoln
[March 16, 2025]
The Educational Center for the Visually Impaired (ECVI)
is proud to announce the launch of its new location at the Oasis Senior
Center in Lincoln, Illinois. We are expanding vital programs and
services for people who are blind or visually impaired across Central
Illinois.
ECVI has been a beacon of support for the visually impaired since 2014.
We recognize the need to bring our services closer to people in Logan
County who struggle to see the world they live in. We take their
perceptions of what seems impossible and make them possible.
We offer free personalized basic education and training such as IPhone
training when the person cannot see the screen to stay connected to
family and friends; white cane training so that the person can walk
safely in familiar and unfamiliar environments to navigate curbs and
stairs; daily living skills that make it easier for the person to cook
with confidence and maintain their health and wellness.

All of our services are designed so that people can
still be independent even though they are frustrated and cannot do
what they used to do with the loss of some or all of their eyesight.
Because we do not charge for our
services, we depend on the Lincoln community to support our efforts.
Can you imagine how frightening and frustrating it can be when you
cannot see to drive or read anything clearly? We are asking for your
financial support to bring our services to the Lincoln community.
