[March 17, 2025]  MT. PULASKI - Orville O. Bandelow, 92, of Mt. Pulaski, IL., passed away on March 13th, 2025, at Vonderlieth Living Center.

Visitation:  Thursday, March 20th, 2025 from 9:30 - 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Mt. Pulaski

Service:  Thursday, March 20th, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the church

Obituary

Orville O. Bandelow, 92, of Mt. Pulaski, IL., passed away on March 13th, 2025, at Vonderlieth Living Center.

Orville was born on November 14th, 1932, the son of Otto and Ella (Rath) Bandelow. He married Patricia Ann Manley on February 14, 1954. She preceded him in death on February 22, 2001.

Orville is survived by his daughter, Renita Mohr; grandchildren, Aaron Mohr, Andria (Matt) Nickel; step grandchildren, Jason Mohr and Nathan Mohr; great-grandchildren, Emmett, Winnie, and Loretta; his companion, Betty Lyon; and sister in-law, Janet (Darold) Deibert

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son in-law, Dave Mohr; sister, Doris Jean Shanle.

Orville served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1954. He was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mt. Pulaski. He worked for Caterpillar in Decatur for 35 years; he loved camping and was a member of the Caterpillar Campers Club. Above all else Orville loved being with his family.
 

Funeral Services for Orville will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 20th, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church in Mt. Pulaski. Visitation will take place prior to the service, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM also at the church. Burial will follow the service at Steenbergen Cemetery where Military Honors will be rendered by the Mt. Pulaski American Legion Post #447. Memorial donations may be made in Orville’s name to Zion Lutheran Church, Zion Lutheran School, or Vonderlieth Living Center. Services have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mt. Pulaski.
