Lincoln’s first run of the game came in the top
of the second inning without a hit. Three walks and a stolen
base in the inning helped the Railsplitters plate the first run.
Brady Miller scored that run and he had the stolen base but
Lincoln was already down 3-1 early.
In the top of the fifth inning, with Lincoln down 6-1, Ashton
Corley walked to lead off the inning. Drew Hayes hit a single to
left, advancing Hayes to second. After Corley stole third, he
was able to score on a sacrifice fly by Austin Lucas.
The Cyclones scored six times in the bottom of the sixth inning
and the 12-2 ballgame came to a quick ending.
Drew Hayes had two of Lincoln’s hits while Karson Komnick had
one.
The Cyclones did not homer in the game but they did have three
triples and 16 singles that did plenty of damage.
Bryce Vlahovich took the loss for Lincoln. He started the game
and worked two innings, giving up six hits and six runs. He
walked two and struck out one.
Carson Fuiten, Ashton Corley and Austin Lucas each pitched in
relief.
Will Pennell earned the win for the Cyclones. He tossed six
innings, allowing three hits, two runs and six walks. Pennell
struck out 10 batters.
Lincoln will play at Dunlap on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
