Substance Use Prevention Coalition May Meeting

[May 09, 2025]  The Substance Use Prevention Coalition (SUPC) held a virtual meeting on May 8 led by Grace Irvin of Chestnut Health Systems. The mission of the SUPC is “to promote awareness of substance use disorder, prevent youth substance use, and improve access to resources.” March and April’s meeting entailed discussion of capacity and recruiting more members. Current members brainstormed area organizations, businesses, and individuals to recruit who would support SUPC goals and attend SUPC monthly meetings at Lincoln Memorial Hospital or join online.

The May SUPC meeting involved identifying individuals within previously identified organizations and businesses to contact with invitations to join SUPC. Entities such as Rotary Club, YMCA, School Resource Officers, libraries, PTA and PTO, churches, factories, small businesses, and others were identified.
