Lincoln clubs MacArthur Generals 13-0
Kutz and Kurka combine for no-hitter in five innings

[May 15, 2025]  The Lincoln Railers softball team hosted the MacArthur Generals on Wednesday and after building an 11-0 lead in the first inning, the victory was a no-doubter. Lincoln won easily, 13-0 in five innings. The Generals failed to get a hit off either Regan Kutz or Madison Kurka.   

 

Lincoln batted 17 times in the bottom of the first inning.

The first time through the order Kelsey Marten, Kate Farnam, Emma Hutchison each had RBI singles. A couple walks and an error helped the Railers to a 5-0 lead.

As Grey Gilbert began to bat the second time around, she was hit by a pitch to load the bases and with two outs the Railers went on to score six more runs. Morgan Sheley and Regan Kutz each walked to force runs in and then Marten hit another single, this time driving in two runs. Addy Mahler added a two-run single to rest the score at 11-0. Laurynn Mayberry hit a double after that but the Railers would leave the bases loaded when the Generals finally recorded the third out.

Kutz made the score 12-0 in the second inning on a single that scored Gilbert.

Madisen Wurth drove in a run on a single to center in the third inning and Lincoln was winning 13-0.

Regan Kutz got the win for the Railers. Kutz worked four innings, walking two and striking out five.

Madison Kurka threw one inning and struck out the side.

Lincoln had eleven hits off the Generals pitching.

Kelsey Marten and Addy Mahler each had two hits for Lincoln.

Sheley, Kutz, Eskra, Mayberry, Farnam, Wurth and Hutchison each had one hit.

Lincoln is now 13-14 on the season.
