Carson Fuiten pitched a complete game for the
Railsplitters on Thursday at Mike Curry Field as Lincoln
defeated the MacArthur Generals 7-1.
Fuiten gave up two hits in the first inning as the Generals
scored their only run of the game to take a 1-0 lead.
Brady Miller walked in the second inning, stole second, took
third on an error and scored the tying run for Lincoln on a
passed ball.
In the bottom of the third inning the Railsplitters scored four
runs to take the lead. Drew Hayes, Brady Miller and Kyle Koehler
each singled in the inning while Karson Komnick tripled in a
run.
Lincoln’s final two runs of the game were scored in the sixth
inning. A walk, two hit by pitches and two passed balls made it
easy for Lincoln to score.
With Fuiten striking out seven batters and walking two, the win
was in the history books. Fuiten tied Wyatt Mammen for the most
career wins in Railsplitter baseball with 18. Fuiten gave up
five hits to the Generals.
Lincoln had six hits versus the Generals.
Drew Hayes led the offense by going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a
run scored.
Parker Graue, Karson Komnick, Brady Miller and Kyle Koehler each
had one hit for Lincoln.
The Railsplitters (14-16) will host Lanphier at 11:00 a.m. on
Saturday.
