Bruns earns 6th place in high jump at State

Brenley Bruns earned a sixth place medal at the IHSA Class 2A Girls State Track and Field Championships at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston on Saturday.

Bruns earned her spot at the podium with a PR in the high jump. The junior jumped 1.58m (5’ 2.25”).

Mallory Short missed the medal stand but the senior still finished her LCHS career with a PR of 58.46 in the 400m.

The 4x400m relay team of Kyli Lund, Grace Schneider, Bailey Tungate and Mallory Short finished in 20th place among 38 teams with a time of 4:12.20.

Adalyn Varner threw the discus 34.11m (111’ 11”) for a 16th place finish. Varner is a sophomore.

Piper Tyson brings home 9th place medal

Mount Pulaski sophomore Piper Tyson brought home a medal on Saturday from the IHSA Class 1A Girls State Track and Field Championships at Eastern Illinois University.

Tyson earned a ninth place medal in the discus with a throw of 36.77m (120’ 7”).

Tyson finished in 27th place in the shot put with a toss of 10.09m (33’ 1.25”).
