Lincoln Police Department
Press Release: Threats to LJHS
[October 08, 2025]
Relased October 7th:
On October 6th, 2025, at 7:38pm it
was reported to the Lincoln Police that there were threats made
against juveniles, which encompassed threats made against the
school. The threats were made by one adult individual and were made
off any district 27 campus. Lincoln Police Officers conducted an
investigation and the suspect was in custody by 10:38pm.
Once the investigation was complete and the suspect was in custody,
District 27 Staff and the assigned School Resource Officer were
informed. District 27 released a message via Teacher Ease at
approximately 6:45am this morning (Oct 7), letting parents know
there were no further safety concerns. This determination was made
by The Police Department and District 27 Staff and the determination
was made knowing the full details of the investigation.
The determination to deem the school safe of this threat or any
other threat is not something the Police Department or District 27
Staff take lightly. Many of our own children and our own family
members attend schools within the District. The Police Department
and District 27 would not allow students to return unless we knew
the schools were absolutely safe from this threat. The Police
Department did not immediately do a press release, as the issue was
already addressed and information was released by the District,
hours before school started.

The Police
Department strongly cautions you against getting your
information from unreliable sources, such as an individual’s
social media post or a post made to one of the many groups who
claim to be “in the know”. Many of these people distribute
misinformation and have very little or no factual knowledge. For
trustworthy information, please refer to your official school
communications. Every parent should be signed up to receive them
and they come in email, text, or voice call.
