							Obituary 
							James F. Defebaugh, 83, of Clinton, 
							passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, 
							surrounded by his loved ones, as he went to be with 
							his Lord and Savior. 
							 
							Jim was born on July 6, 1942. He was a devoted 
							husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. 
							Jim is survived by his cherished wife of 59 years 
							Betty, sisters Leona and Avis, his children: James 
							E. Defebaugh of Jasper, GA, Julie (Mark) Rogers of 
							St. Louis, MO., Jason (Gina) Defebaugh of Lincoln, 
							IL and Jenifer (Dan) Leevey of Forsyth, IL; 
							grandchildren: Taelor (Nolan) Rynearson, Alex 
							(Kayla) Rogers, Destiny (Travis) Barnes, Morgan 
							(Patrick) Hoban, Rylee Defebaugh, Jaron Defebaugh, 
							Brently Defebaugh, Emma Leevey, Samantha Rogers, 
							Jillian Defebaugh; and ten great-grandchildren. 
							 
							He was predeceased by his mother, Florence; father, 
							Harold; and siblings Edith, Richard, Bob and Jerry. 
							 
							Jim, an avid gardener, had a passion for growing 
							vegetables and sharing his harvest with friends and 
							family. He was a fan of many sports, with the 
							Chicago Cubs and the Illinois Fighting Illini being 
							his favorites. His many hobbies include fishing, 
							woodworking, and playing games with his family and 
							friends.  | 
							
							 
                
				  
							Jim never met a stranger and always 
							looked for (and found) the best in everyone. He will 
							be deeply missed. 
							 
							A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at the 
							Clinton Church of Christ on October 25, 2025, at 
							11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made 
							to the Clinton Church of Christ. 
							 
							Peasley Funeral Home of Lincoln is assisting the 
							family with arrangements.
