Local elementary schools participate in Coins for a Cause for the American Cancer Society

[October 24, 2025]

In the first half of October, area elementary schools throughout Logan County were invited to participate in Coins for a Cause in support of the American Cancer Society and breast cancer awareness month.
This event was sponsored by the Friends and Family Relay Team and Lincoln Daily News. The schools that participated were Chester East Lincoln and Washington Monroe School.
In total, the schools raised $376.16 for the American Cancer Society.

Students from Chester East Lincoln school presented a check for $292 to the Relay for Life Friends and Family Team to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. The classes raised the funds by donating money on a recent pajama day at their school.

At Washington Monroe Ms. Spencer’s Fourth grade class took part in raising money at that school.

Thank you to the schools and students who participated in this year’s event. Your hard work and giving attitude are appreciated.
