Farm & Home Ladies Night includes fundraising for the American Cancer Society

[October 25, 2025]

Thursday, October 23rd was the annual Ladies Night at the Lincoln Farm & Home Supply on the city’s west side. This is an evening when all the ladies at the store get special treatment, including special discounts, Farm & Home gift cards, or store swag with the spin of a wheel at a table set up representing the store. There were also discounts in certain sections of the store and an automatic ten percent discount at the register for all other merchandise.

This year, the Friends and Family Relay for Life team was invited to partner with Farm & Home for a fundraiser at the store to benefit the American Cancer Society and Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Friends and Family co-chairs Karen Castelein and Nila Smith had the first table as shoppers entered the store. Farm & Home had a rack of pink T-shirts and a rack of black and pink fanny packs. Castelein and Smith hawked for donations and when shoppers gave either at the table or at the register, they were invited to take a free shirt or fanny pack as a reward for their generosity.

For that table it was a very good evening, raising more than $700 for ACS.

The second table was manned by Farm & Home staff. The ladies were invited to spin the wheel and see what they might win. Prizes on the wheel included sunglasses, a $5 gift card, $10 gift card, red tote, pink cozy, a pink water bottle or a mystery prize. There was also a chance to win a vacation trip with an online entry, and free dog food for the furry friends who accompanied the ladies.

In addition to those two tables, vendors tables were in the midway in front of the check out stations including Saphire Blue, Shellz Suds, Bob’s Woodshed and Ollie’s Café and Sweets.

The evening began at 4 p.m. and ran to 8 p.m. with a large crowd coming and going throughout the evening.

Store Manager Rick Wilson and Assistant Manager Bob Rankin were both pleased with the turnout Thursday night, and especially happy that through the corporate efforts and store efforts the evening raised a hefty sum for the American Cancer Society.

For the record, Farm & Home will host a special Guys Night in November with store discounts, specials, and free gifts chosen just for them.
