Obituary
Lois Leesman, 102, of
Lincoln, IL, passed away on Wednesday, October 29,
2025, at St. Clara’s Rehab and Senior Care.
Lois was born April 2, 1923, in Lincoln, the
daughter of Harrison and Blanch (Hoblit) Wilson. She
was united in marriage to Marvin Leesman on October
2, 1948. He preceded her in death in 2006.
Lois is survived by her two sons, Keith (Charlise)
and Thomas Kevin; grandchildren, Jonathan (Dana)
Leesman and Jeff (Jennifer) Leesman;
great-grandchildren, Keegan, Cade, Norah, Jenna,
Tate, and Jeris; along with numerous nieces and
nephews.
A member of the Lincoln First Presbyterian Church
for ninety-eight years, she served as Deacon, Elder,
and Clerk of Session and was active in Women’s
Association activities. Lois was a 49-year member of
the Abraham Lincoln Chapter of D.A.R.
She attended Lincoln Elementary Schools and was a
1941 LCHS graduate. Lois then received a business
certificate from Lincoln College and in 1942,
started working in the office of Remington Rand,
INC. in Illiopolis, IL, where ammunition was made
during WWII. Then in 1944, she moved to Burbank, CA,
and worked at Lockheed Aircraft until the war was
over in 1946. She later worked for the State of
Illinois, retiring from LDC in 1990. |

Lois and Marvin loved
to dance and went many places over the years to
enjoy the music. Lois’ greatest joys were being with
her family, especially her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren, and living in her home (which
Marvin built) until she turned 100 years old.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,
one brother, and two sisters.
A big thank you to the staff at St. Clara’s for
their loving care and compassion. Your kindness is
very appreciated.
A memorial service for Lois will be held at a later
date at First Presbyterian Church in Lincoln, IL.
