Obituary
Carolyn M. Rauch, 81, of Bloomington,
formerly of Downs, passed away at her home on August
30, 2025.
Services for Carolyn will be held on Saturday,
September 13, 2025, at the Quiram-Peasley Funeral
Home in Atlanta, IL. Visitation will begin at 1:00
p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m.
Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Carolyn M. Pape was born May 29, 1944, in
Belleville, the daughter of Walter H. and Adele L.
Krone Pape.
Carolyn is survived by two children: Christopher
(Karen) Rauch and Jennifer (Danny) Lilly; and three
grandchildren: Aizik “A.J.” Wagner, Brianna Lilly,
and Matthew Lilly.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles
Pape, and one grandson, Michael “Trey” C. Wagner
III.
Carolyn was a 1962 graduate of Columbia High School
in Columbia, IL. She then graduated from Deaconess
School of Nursing in 1965, followed by McKendree
College where Carolyn received a Bachelor of Science
in Nursing (BSN). Carolyn had also completed a
Master of Science in Nursing at St. Louis University
(MSN).
Carolyn was a practicing nurse for 57 years, during
which time she also instructed at Lakeview College
of Nursing in Danville for 17 years. |

She attended Living Hope Christian
Church in Downs. Carolyn loved spending time with
her children and grandchildren, reading, and was a
cat lover. She really enjoyed living at the Villas
of Holly Brook – Assisted Living & Memory Care:
Bloomington Fox Creek the last few years and playing
Crazy 8s and BINGO with her “family” there.

Bible Study, 608 N Huff Road, Downs, IL 61736.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home of Atlanta, IL.
