On Saturday, September 6, Zion
Lutheran School held its annual Fall Festival. This year was an
extra special one since it was the 50th anniversary of the school.

From 4:30 - 6:30 p.m., there was an outdoor carnival with
inflatables, a Plinko game, putt putt golf, bags, ring toss, tic tac
toe and a dice game. After kids won tickets, they could take them to
a table and choose a prize.

The kids could also try to walk
using tin cans like stilts. In another area, someone made balloon
animals and shapes and juggled.

Inside there was a cake walk and many goodies to choose from when
your number got called.

Around the hallway were posters and
photos of events that have taken place at the school the past 50
years.

Over 300 people were there to eat
the meal of pulled pork, baked beans, mashed potatoes, a cookie and
a drink. As people ate, they enjoyed visiting with longtime friends
and other people there for the event.

Auction
A pie and cake auction was held at 6:30 p.m. with Mike Maske
auctioning off each item and encouraging people to place high
bids.

Several pies, cakes and breads sold
for well over one hundred dollars with an Angel food cake going for
$650. After all the cakes were auctioned off, 20 pounds of pulled
pork was auctioned off for a bid of $175.
The final item up for bidding was a cake that will be made by
12-year-old Olivia Wrage when she turns 18 (due to rules that people
must be 18 to bake auction items). This yet to be made cake went for
$500.

Once the event was over, Elizabeth
Wrage, who helped coordinate the festival, thanked everyone for
coming and said over $7500 had been raised from the auction and cake
walk.
