The Mt. Pulaski Fall Festival was
held on the weekend of September 13th and 14th. Saturday the 13th
was the biggest day of the festival, however, as more events were
planned for this day than any of the other days. The weather was
really hot, with it getting up to 93 degrees Fahrenheit, but as the
sun began to set, the temperature cooled back down.
The final event of the night was a four hour live performance by the
Brandy Kristin Band. Before the show, Kristin, who is the lead
singer/vocalist of the band, spoke a bit about the Brandy Kristin
Band and its members. The band is out of Springfield and have played
at the Fall Festival before in the past, but it has been about three
years. She shared that she has been with this band for about ten
years now, a third of her thirty year music career. The band tends
to be high energy and they play covers of popular genres like metal
and country, but mostly rock. They like to make the covers their
own. Kristin also shared that within the next month, the band is
planning on starting to write some of their own music.

As for the members of the band,
these include Kristin as the lead singer/vocalist, guitarists Bryan
Ealey and Matt Smeagal, drummer Brandon Drew, and bassist and
keyboardist Tony Tarro. Kristin said that all members of the band
are currently listed in the Best of Springfield for various musical
categories.

At just about 7:00 p.m., the
members of the band came out on stage. Kristin thanked the sponsor
of the festival, and then immediately began playing a cover of Any
Way You Want It by Journey. As Kristin stated, the band had a lot of
energy, with Kristin herself often jumping around on stage, rarely
staying in one spot for too long.
As the night drew on, the music kept its upbeat tempo and energy.
The lights on stage got brighter, and more people began to show up
to watch the performance. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the show.
