[February 02, 2026]  NORMAL - Normal- Phillip Louis Mastrolia, 65, of Normal, Illinois died of prostate cancer and other health
complications on January 30, 2026.

Visitation:  Monday, February 2, 2026 from 4:30pm - 6:30 p.m. at
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints building at 1628 W. Hovey Ave., Normal, IL.

Service:  Monday, February 2, 2026 at 7 p.m. at
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints building.

Obituary

Normal- Phillip Louis Mastrolia, 65, of Normal, Illinois died of prostate cancer and other health complications on January 30, 2026.

He was born in Roseville, CA in 1960 to Edmund and Lilyan Mastrolia, with big brother John
only 18 months old.

Phil attended La Sierra High School before studying Electrical and
Computer Engineering at the University of California Davis.


Phil met the love of his life, Laurie, in 1983 at a Stake singles’ dance that was held in Sacramento. Excited to start their new lives together, they were married in December of 1984.


Phil and Laurie have 2 daughters, Renee (Josh) and Emily (Matthew). They also have 5 grandchildren, Edmund, Alice, William, Samuel, and Charles. Phil was surrounded by his family when he left this earth.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents Edmund and Lilyan, and his older brother John.

The family will be holding a viewing on Monday, February 2, 2026 from 4:30pm - 6:30pm CT at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints building at 1628 W. Hovey Ave., Normal, IL. Following the viewing a funeral will be held at the same location at 7:00pm CT. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the Prairie Aviation Museum in Bloomington, Illinois would be greatly appreciated to honor Phil and his love for aircraft.
