Railers
[May 02, 2026]
Laurynn Mayberry had herself an outstanding day on Friday
against the Limestone Rockets as Lincoln walked away 9-7 winners.
Mayberry was 3-for-4 at the plate with five RBIs and three runs
scored. Her grand slam in the sixth inning turned the game around
for Lincoln as the team went from trailing by a run to a 9-6 lead.
Mayberry also picked up the win by tossing the final three and
two-thirds innings. She gave up three hits and four runs while
walking two and striking out two.
Norah Block started the game for Lincoln. Block gave up six hits and
three runs. Only one run was earned. She walked two and struck out
one.
Lincoln plated two runs in the first inning after Grey Gilbert got
the offense ignited with a double and Laurynn Mayberry, Addy Mahler
and Emma Hutchison followed with singles. Mahler drove in the first
run and Hutchison drove in the second run.
Limestone scored one run in the bottom of the second inning.

Mayberry added an RBI single in the third inning and the Lady
Railers went on to score another run in the inning on an error.
The Rockets trimmed the lead to 4-3 in the bottom of the third
inning.
Addy Rehn slugged a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth
inning to put the Rockets up 6-4.
Lincoln’s big sixth inning was the difference in the game.
The girls battled back to score five runs. Norah Block, Morgan
Sheley and Grey Gilbert singled, Lily Holmes added a sacrifice bunt
and Preslee Sherren reached on an error. After Block scored, the
bases were still loaded for Mayberry.

Mayberry sent a 2-1 pitch to center for a grand
slam and just like that Lincoln was back on top 9-6.
The Rockets scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning on an
RBI double by Kyla Fox but Lincoln was able to close the game out
quickly after that and take the 9-7 win.

hits.
Grey Gilbert was 3-or-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. Gilbert
hit a double in the first, a triple in the third, and a single in
her last at-bat. She is an excellent hitter from that no. 2 spot.

Morgan Sheley was 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Worth mentioning again is the outstanding performance by Laurynn
Mayberry. She was 3-for-4 with five RBIs and she scored three runs.
