Hilltoppers shutout Cornerstone Christian 8-0

[May 02, 2026]  Jaeden Jackson was dialed in Friday afternoon on the mound as he pitched the Hilltoppers to an 8-0 shutout over Cornerstone Christian Academy in Bloomington.

Jackson tossed the complete game shutout, only allowing two hits and two walks. He struck out nine batters.

The Hilltoppers used two big innings to put the Cyclones away. Mount Pulaski scored four runs in both the fifth and seventh innings.

Keoni Charron started the fifth inning with a single and he scored the first run of the game on a fielder’s choice by Chase Roberts. Preston Cowan added a two-run single and after swiping second base, Cowan eventually scored on an error by the catcher to make the score 4-0.

Roberts and Cowan hit back-to-back singles to start the seventh inning and they each stole bases. This made it easier to score on Luke Martin’s line drive to left field. Mount Pulaski added two more runs when Martin scored on a wild pitch and Tyler Cross scored on a balk.

Jackson retired the side quickly in the seventh inning. After he picked off the runner from first base, the final two batters each grounded out.
