Havana game shop to take over Arlee for Gaming Pop-Up
[May 14, 2026]
Third Thursday Tabletop, a monthly-meeting free gaming event that
takes place at the Arlee and is hosted by Chet Leamon of the Mason City
Tabletop Society, will be taken over for its May 21 meeting by Sword and
Board, the gaming shop based in Havana.
While Chet is on vacation, Jess & Adam Hughes from Sword and Board have
generously offered to run the event for the evening and also bring some
games, dice & other goodies from their store for a pop-up shop at the
Arlee during the event.
Attendees will have the opportunity to do some shopping if they wish,
and also join in the free gaming session.
While this event is usually focused on roleplay games (like Dungeons &
Dragons), this month's edition will feature playing the large group game
"Codenames." Codenames is a team-based word game where you try to guess
your team's secret words while avoiding the other team's words (and a
few other surprises). If you love a good bit of espionage and
collaborative play without too many tricky rules, you will likely enjoy
this all-ages game that is perfect for parties.
