2018 EDUCATION MAGAZINE LINCOLN DAILY NEWS MARCH 1, 2018 Page 29 able to take classes from someone I am already familiar with and who I know I learn well from. I feel like it is easier to get closer with teachers in high school, and it is much easier to ask questions. I also like having plenty of time to work compared to the shorter amount of time I would have in class in college. Taking calculus 1 & 2 and statistics will allow me to not have to take math in college. I am going into a pre- med major, so I will have plenty of difficult classes already. It is nice to get these credits early and be able to have more space in my college schedule for extra classes like band and Spanish.” Josh Vinson, who is also taking all three of the dual-credit classes says, “This has been the best school- year of my entire life. Through the help of my professor, Mr. Hammer, it has been possible to accomplish the unthinkable and grasp an impeccable understanding of the subject at hand, whether it be calculus, or statistics. He has not only been an outstanding teacher of the subjects, he has been a great mentor and an overall great friend. He is the perfect person for the job, and has created opportunities for me in my following years through college. I feel as if I am prepared to take on all college math courses with the same mindset that Mr. Hammer instilled into me.” [Mr. Chris Hammer / LDN]
