However, this time of joy and expectation can often overshadow the pain and hurt many experience during this season, when the world’s merriment puts their grief and sorrow in stark relief. Traditionally centered on the Winter Solstice [the longest night of the year], this service will provide time and space, through song and readings from Scripture, for God’s people to reflect on the pain this time of the year can invoke, while also remembering that God is there and that light will soon return. 6 p.m. meal in Community Ed Building 7 p.m. service in Sanctuary Monday, Dec. 24 -- Candlelight Christmas Eve Service 7 p.m. in Sanctuary
