Page 2 2019 Mount Pulaski High School Prom LINCOLN DAILY NEWS May 7, 2019 M ount Pulaski is more than a couple hundred miles from Japan, but the Shawn Mendes-penned song “Lost In Japan” was the theme of the 2019 MPHS Prom. For those in attendance at the prom, which was held Saturday at the American Legion Home Post 447 in Mount Pulaski. The decorations that included cherry blossom backdrops made the prom participants feel like they were in the same time zone as Japan. The 2019 Prom Sponsors, Janette Cooper and Sarah Cooper, explained that the students voted on the music-inspired theme. The “Lost In Japan” theme was present everywhere from the entryway to the table decorations to the ceiling. “The students’ tickets were passports and they presented them at the door to get stamped before getting lost in Japan,” said Janette Cooper. The students enjoyed a dance and DJ until 11 p.m. The post prom was held at the MPHS gymnasium from 11:30 p.m. until 6 a.m. This was the 31st year for post prom. According to the MPHS website, “Students had a great time during the event, which included bingo, inflatable human foosball, inflatable obstacle course, nine square, inflatable light challenge, inflatable hungry hippo, hypnotist show, Vegas games, a magic show, and a lot of Mount Pulaski’s 2019 Prom carries a “Lost in Japan” theme Story and Photos by Teena Lowery Continued p
