Page 156 2020 Hometown HEROES Magazine LINCOLN DAILY NEWS May 14, 2020 T his time FOR the heart of our community - our healthcare workers and first responders. Sometimes it takes a big event to help us realize that we spend most of our time taking certain people for granted. We assume the doctors, nurses, CNA’s, the police officers, ambulance drivers, EMT’s and firefighters are always going to be there when we need them. We assume that they are somewhat infallible. We don’t A few more hearts think about them getting sick, and we don’t think about the fact they often put themselves in harm’s way for our benefit. It’s time for us all to count our blessings for the people who look out for us daily, whether we realize it or not, and it is time to say a great big thank you to all of them. Photos by Karen Hargis
