A t Timber Creek Village Assisted Living in Lincoln, our priority is keeping our residents safe. Because of this, our residents are not permitted to use the communal areas within the facility during this time. However, we are finding fun ways to keep our residents active while practicing safe social distancing. A few of our activities include Hallway Bingo, Hallway Hungry Hippo, one-on-one art classes and spa days, a daily snack cart, and a traveling vineyard! These activities help to ensure our residents are still participating and receiving the daily interaction they need. We are also hand delivering their meals three times a day! Therefore, if a resident chooses not to participate in some of our activities, we are still socializing with them during these times. Any way we can boost our residents’ spirits and bring a little sunshine into their world is our goal. Although our residents miss their families and friends, most of our seniors do understand why visitors are not allowed into the building. Our administration has spoken to all of our Timber Creek Village residents and staff doing well in these unusual times A message to the community from Administrator Tisha Abner residents’ families to keep them informed of what is happening during the quarantine. Through our iPad, called Chatterbox, families can video chat with their loved ones. This helps ease both the residents’ and the family members’ minds to reassure each other that both are doing well. We have had many families call to get on the schedule to use the Chatterbox. We also have had a few families come to the residents’ back doors to blow kisses and just bring a little cheer. Even though we all have to keep a safe distance, a little interaction goes a long way! Currently, all of our staff and residents are happy and healthy. We will continue to follow the proper protocol and procedures to ensure the safety of our workers and residents.
