2020 Hometown HEROES Magazine LINCOLN DAILY NEWS May 14, 2020 Page 183 So, was the Spanish Flu worse than Covid-19? Some say yes, some say that Covid-19 is no worse than any other flu and that our country and state leaders are over reacting. And, maybe there is some validity to that theory. But, we should also stop and ask ourselves a couple of other questions. If Woodrow Wilson were the President today, would we be doing this well? If science and technology had not advanced as it has in the last 100 years, would we be doing this well? If we were not adhering to the Stay at Home orders, would we be doing this well? If we did not have the advances in medicine and research, would we be doing this well? If we were suffering from Covid-19 in 1918, would we be doing this well? Probably no one can fully answer those questions, but can we all be thankful that we don’t have to find out? We hope so. In the meantime, stay in, stay healthy, and we’ll look forward to seeing you when this is finally all over.
