The friends he made along the way are still his friends and he is loved by many people.” This love for others gave him a highly successful career at the Lincoln Park District. In charge of many activities for the community, if the event wasn’t in the budget, Logan went out and raised the money himself so that no one went without. Park District Executive Director Marsha Greenslate, co-worker and friend to Roy described him this way, “We shared working on activities for the Park District but, also, for the community. Roy took pride in Lincoln. It didn’t matter if there were two or a hundred people involved; they all received the same experience.” Kiwanis is an international club empowering its members to use creative ways to serve the needs of children since 1915. Kiwanis offers opportunities for children to be curious, safe and healthy while fighting hunger, improving literacy, and offering guidance. Programs for youth help to create the next generation of community leaders. Being a member of the local club allowed Logan to further his passion for helping kids. K.
