Coffee Cake

“A family favorite for years.”
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup butter, slightly softened
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon soda - dissolved in water
1 tablespoon water
Cut together brown sugar, butter, flour and cinnamon until
crumbly. RESERVE 1 CUP. Add remaining ingredients; blend well.
Grease and flour bundt pan. Pour blended mixture in pan,
sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Bake at 350 degree for 35 - 45
minutes until knife inserted comes out clean.
Note: I’ve made this with the substitute of milk and vinegar for
buttermilk but have found the real buttermilk makes it the best.
