Blueberry Cheese Bars

1 pkg. (18
oz.) refrigerated sugar slice and bake cookies, at room temperature
1 pkg. (8
oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 egg
1/4 cup
sugar
1/2
teaspoon grated lemon rind
1 1/2 cups
blueberry pie filling (you can also use the cherry pie filling if
desired)
Preheat
oven to 350 degrees. Press dough evenly in a greased 13x9x2-inch
pan. Beat cream cheese, egg, sugar and lemon rind in a medium-size
bowl with an electric mixer until smooth. Spread cheese, mixture
over cookie dough. Dollop blueberry (or cherry) pie filling on
cheese, swirl with a knife or small metal spatula. Bake in preheated
oven, 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into
bars. Refrigerate.
