Taffy Apple Salad

1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple
½ cup sugar
1 tablespoon flour
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 egg, beaten
2 cups peanuts
4 cups chopped apples
1 (8 oz.) cartoon frozen whipped topping, thawed
Drain pineapple and combine juice with sugar, flour and vinegar.
Add egg and blend well. Cook on stove in a saucepan; whisking
the whole time until thick. Cool completely. Fold in peanuts,
apples and whipped topping. Chill until ready to serve.
