Butterscotch Brownies

1/4 cup butter (softened) or butter flavored Crisco
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butterscotch chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan. In a
medium bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until smooth.
Beat in the egg and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder
and salt; stir into the sugar mixture. Mix in the butterscotch
chips. Spread evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 25 to 30
minutes in the preheated oven, until the brownies start to pull
away from the sides of the pan.
