SUBMITTED by Debra Rohrer, Food Editor
“A yummy snack for after school or after supper.”

3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
12 ounces milk chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In mixing bowl, use electric mixer to cream together sugars, margarine, vanilla and eggs. Add flour, baking soda and salt; blend again. Spread batter into greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and press down into batter. Bake until bars are golden brown on top and knife inserted comes out clean. Cut into bars and serve warm or cooled. Bars can be served warm with a dip of ice cream, drizzle of hot fudge sauce and sprinkle of chopped nuts. Note: Don’t over bake these.
