Apple Cake

4 cups apples, diced
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
3 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons soda
1 cup nut meats
Topping:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 cup margarine
1 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix together apples, sugar and eggs; let stand a few minutes.
Add dry ingredients and nuts; mix well. Pour into 13 x 2 inch
greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Meanwhile make
topping. Boil brown sugar, sugar, flour, margarine, water and
vanilla for 4 minutes until slightly thickened. As soon as cake
is removed from oven, pierce cake with fork and pour on hot
topping. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped topping.
