Red Velvet Brownies
1 brownie mix
1 oz. bottle red food coloring
1/3 cup milk with 1 teaspoon lemon juice
(can use buttermilk too)
2 eggs
½ cup oil
Cream cheese frosting:
4 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
½ stick margarine, room temperature
¼ cup Crisco
4 cups powdered sugar
water, start with a couple tablespoons then add more as needed
Preheat oven to 350°. Line bottom and sides of a 13 x 9-inch pan with
aluminum foil, allowing 2 to 3 inches to extend over sides; lightly
grease foil. Spread batter in pan. Bake at 350° according to package
directions and knife inserted comes out clean. Cool completely. Lift
brownies from pan, using foil sides as handles; gently remove foil.
Spread cream cheese frosting on top of brownies, and cut into squares.
