Apple Pie

4th place in 2012 Logan County Fair “My Favorite” Pie Contest
Never Fail Pie Crust
Combine:
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
Mix with:
1 ¾ cup Crisco
Add
1 egg, beaten with 1 teaspoon vinegar
½ cup cold water
Mix well and keep in refrigerator
Filling:
2/3 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 ½ tablespoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
5 cups sliced cooking apples
½ cup cream
Roll bottom crust and place in pie pan. Mix filling ingredients
together and put in pie pan. Roll out 2 nd crust and place on
top. Bake.
