Georgiabelle Wilmert

Georgiabelle S. Wilmert, 85, of Lincoln, died at 10:39 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2000, at her home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, at St. John United Church of Christ in Lincoln with the Rev. Richard Reinwald officiating.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.

Mrs. Wilmert had worked in the cafeterias of Jefferson and Central schools in Lincoln and as a sales clerk at J.C. Penney's in Lincoln.

 She was born June 16, 1914, at Tallulah, La., a daughter of George and Melissa Watkins Sanders. She married Orville F. Wilmert Sept. 30, 1950, at Lincoln. He died April 17, 1988.

Surviving are two sisters, Margaret E. Sams and Alice (and Dale) Row of Lincoln; three nephews, Dr. Jim (and Leslie) Wilmert and John (and Alice) Wilmert of Lincoln and Jon (and Sheri) Row of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two nieces, Eleanor Gunderman and Kay Wilmert, both of Lincoln; one great-niece, Debbie (and Thomas) Nisbett of Houlton, Me.; and two brothers-in-law, Wilbur (and Mildred) Wilmert and Clifford (and Margaret) Wilmert of Lincoln.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Martha Blackwell; and one nephew, Dr. William Blackwell.

She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Pairs and Spares, the Charity Guild, the Women's Guild and the Christian Seekers.  She was also a member of AARP, Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital and the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Memorials may be made to St. John United Church of Christ. 

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln, is in charge of arrangements.
