Hattie Brandt

Hattie F. Brandt, 106, of Lincoln died at 8:10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, at St. Clara’s Manor in Lincoln.

A graveside service with the Rev. Larry Maffett officiating will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at McLean Cemetery.

There is no visitation.

Arrangements are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Mrs. Brandt was a retired licensed practical nurse. She had worked at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 24, 1895, in Fredericksburg, Ind., to John and Laura Huff Wilcoxson. She married Charles Brandt in Lincoln on Sept. 27, 1910. He died in 1981.

Surviving are two daughters, Edna Mae Brandt of Seattle, Wash., and Helen Wyatt of Greenfield, Ind.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two daughters, three brothers and one sister.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lincoln.

Memorials may be made to St. Clara’s Manor.

Ethel Ulrich

Ethel M. Ulrich, 93, of Chestnut died at 10:25 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at Vonderlieth Living Center, Mount Pulaski.

Her funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Chestnut United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Carol Andricks officiating.

Burial will be in Laenna Cemetery, Chestnut.

Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.

Mrs. Ulrich was a homemaker. She was also a Chestnut Grade School cook for nine years.

She was born Feb. 12, 1908, in Luther, Tenn., to Kelly C. and Hattie Moore Odom. She married Avoldt Ulrich in Lincoln on Dec. 12, 1928. He died Jan. 9, 1973.

Surviving are one brother, the Rev. James H. Odom of Arlington Heights; one niece, Doris (and George) Kath of Cooksville; three nephews, Ralph (and Jayne) McBrayer of Ellsworth, Dennis (and Adele) Odom of Vernon Hills and David (and Jennifer) Odom of Maryland; one sister-in-law, Margaret Odom of Alabama; two grandnieces; and three grandnephews.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, two brothers, one nephew and two grandnephews.

She was a member of Chestnut United Methodist Church and the Logan County Home Bureau.

Memorials may be made to her church.
